Five Years of Impact

Over the past five years, VI-ISERP’s STEM Institute has proudly supported STEM educators in the Virgin Islands through high-quality, hands-on professional development. We've grown, learned, and adapted—especially through some of the most challenging times in education history.

Amidst the global Covid-19 pandemic and ongoing recovery from Hurricanes Irma and Maria, our territory’s teachers persevered. The STEM Institute rose to support them with:

Technology Loan Program: Laptops, portable WiFi, iPads, robots, Micro:bits, and more.

Teacher Wellness: “Teacher Talk Fridays” and social-emotional learning (SEL) support.

Innovative Teaching Tools: Training in Project-Based Learning (PBL) grounded in local STEM research.

Technology Integration: Partnered with TechKnowledge for Teachers, Chbitronics, Micro:bit, Bird Brain Technology, Infosys, and others to bring quality training and devices to teachers.

We are celebrating the strength, innovation, and excellence of our teachers and students who have continued to thrive despite ongoing obstacles. This year’s event will highlight:

PBL projects on coral reef restoration, mangrove restoration, and sustainable agriculture

Partnerships that have empowered our educators
